  Dear parents, This week we worked on: Journeys: We finished Lesson 8 “All Tied Up.” Students were able to answer all the questions in the book. Grammar: We started Unit 4 (Object Personal Pronoun - Possessive Adjectives - Possessive Pronouns - Possessive Case). We did pages 19, 21. Creative writing: This week’s topic was “An integrated Lesson – The Green Machine/ Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind ”. Science: This week we completed Unit 16 Separating Mixtures - We did a short review and students practiced by doing the self-check activity.  Math: This week we did Chapter 3 Lesson 4    Mixed Calculations with Fractions and Decimals. Novels: “Lost and Found” We read chapters 15 to 16 / “The One and Only Ivan” We did pages 128-148

  Dear parents, This week we worked on: Journeys: We did Lesson 6 "The Green Machine" and students answered all the questions in the book.  Grammar: We completed all the activities in Unit 3 (Some, Any, No, Every, Much, Many, A lot of, A few, A little, How much?, How many?). We did pages 14, 16-18. Creative writing: This week’s topic was “My WIGS”. Science: This week we started Unit 16 "Separating Mixtures."  Math: This week we did chapter 3 Lesson 3 Division of Decimals by Decimals. Novels: “Lost and Found” We completed chapters 13-14 / “The One and Only Ivan” We did pages 106-127.

 Dear parents, This week we reviewed and got ready for the English Exam. Journeys: We reviewed lessons 1-5 Grammar: We reviewed Units 1-2 (Present Tenses / Article / Nouns) Science: We reviewed Units 14-15 (Materials and their Properties / Physical & Chemical Changes) Math: We reviewed Ch 1. L 1-2 (Algebraic Equations / Problem Solving)                                  Ch 2.   Dear parents, This week we worked on: Journeys: We did Lesson 5 "The Comedian" and students answered all the questions in the book.  Books have been passed out to the students so they can review lessons 1-5 and get ready for the midterm exam. Grammar: We reviewed unit 1 & 2 "Present Simple / Present Progressive - Articles / Nouns". Books have been passed out to the students so they can review both units.   Creative Writing: This week students had to write 3 short term goals they have using the "Present Simple / Present Progressive tenses". The format of the writing project is "Diary, where students had to explain why they set these goals. They also had to make sure that their goals are S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely) Science: This week we had enough time to review Unit 14 "Materials & Their Properties" Math: This week we did Chapter 3.    Dear parents, This week we worked on: Journeys: We did Lesson 5 "On Duffield Street" and students answered all the questions in the book.  Grammar: We completed all the activities in Unit 2 (Indefinite Article a/an – Definite Article {the} - Nouns). We did pages 11-13. Creative writing: This week’s topic was “Double Ten Day”. Science: This week we completed Unit 15 "Physical & Chemical changes." Students were able to finish the self-check activity. Math: This week we did chapter 3 Lesson 1 Division by 2-digit Whole Numbers. Novels: “Lost and Found” We completed chapters 9-10 / “The One and Only Ivan” We did pages 65-85.

Grammar: We started Unit 2 (Indefinite Article a/an – Definite Article {the} - Nouns). We did pages 8-10. Creative writing: This week’s topic was “Integrated Lesson – Science / Habit 1 ”. Science: This week we started doing Unit 15 which is about “Physical & Chemical changes”. There was enough time to experiment in the classroom by mixing vinegar with baking soda (I did this to explain to them what is a chemical reaction.) Math: This week we did chapter 2 Lesson 1   Divide fractions by fractions. Novels: “Lost and Found” We completed chapters 5 -8 / “The One and Only Ivan” We did pages 43-64

  Dear parents, This week we worked on: Journeys: We finished Lesson 3 “The great Basketball Game.” Students were able to answer all the questions in the book. Grammar: We finished Unit 1 (Present Simple / Present Progressive). Furthermore, the students completed all the exercises. Creative writing: This week’s topic is “Three things I look forward to in Grade 6”. Science: This week we had more time to complete Unit 14: Materials & their properties. Moreover, students had the chance to review what we had done last week and did the self-check activity in the book. Math: This week we did chapter 1 Algebra – Algebraic Equations & Problem solving. Novels: “Lost and Found” We completed chapters 3 and 4 / “The One and Only Ivan” We did pages 22-43
