***Reading Comprehension Worksheet!***
Read the story carefully and answer the following questions. Analyzing O! Pioneers Willa Cather’s 1910 novel, O! Pioneers, follows a Swedish family of farmers in Nebraska. In this passage, John Bergson is dying and worries about what will become of his wife and young children. Alexandra is the oldest Bergson child. Alexandra, her father often said to himself, was like her grandfather; which was his way of saying that she was intelligent. John Bergson’s father had been a shipbuilder, a man of considerable force and of some fortune. Late in life he married a second time, a Stockholm woman of questionable character, much younger than he, who goaded him into every sort of extravagance. Dear parents, This week we managed to complete: Journeys : Lesson 9 "The Forgotten Soldier". Grammar : We completed unit 5 Adjectives / Adverbs. Math : We completed Ch 3. L 6: Problem Solving p83-84 all Science : We completed unit 16 “Separating Mixtures” and we started unit 17 “Changes of State” Creative Writing : Helping Others Novel : Lost and Found & The One and only Ivan Additionally, students took a spelling – vocabulary lesson 8 and grammar unit 5 quiz. Don't forget that this year the 6th-grade teachers are preparing weekly review quizzes based on what we cover in class.
