Week 12
Dear parents, this week we spent most of the time reviewing for the midterm exam. Journeys: We reviewed most of the vocabulary and on Monday we will review the questions from the book. Don't forget that students have to study lessons 6-10. Grammar: We reviewed units 6, 3, and 4 and on Monday we will practice unit 5. Math: We reviewed all the chapters including the word problems. Science: We reviewed units 16-17 and students highlighted the most important parts. Students can review during the weekend and do corrections since they all got the books.
Week 11
Dear parents, This week we worked on: Journeys: We finished lesson 10"Good luck, Aputik!” Students were able to answer all the questions in the book. Grammar: We started Unit 5 but we didn’t finish all the activities in the book {Adjectives / Adverbs / Comparisons}. Creative Writing: LIM – Thanksgiving letter Science: We reviewed Unit 16 Math: This week we did Ch. 4 Lesson 1: Prisms and Pyramids Novel: "Lost and Found" Chapter 19 to 20 / "The One and only Ivan" p.170-211
Week 10
Dear parents, This week we worked on: Journeys: We finished lesson 9 "Hiroo Onoda: The Forgotten Soldier." Students were able to answer all the questions in the book. Grammar: We completed Unit 4 and we started Unit 5 {Adjectives / Adverbs / Comparisons}. Creative Writing: This week's topic was "Helping Others". Science: We did Unit 17 Changes of state Math: This week we did Ch. 3 Lesson 5 Mixed Operations - Problem Solving. Novel: "Lost and Found" Chapter 17 to 18 / "The One and only Ivan" p.149-169
Week 9
Dear parents, This week we worked on: Journeys: We finished lesson 8 "A Prize to Dye For!" Students were able to answer all the questions in the book. Grammar: We started Unit 4 but because of the graduation trip we didn't have enough time to complete all the activities in the book. Creative Writing: We couldn't do anything because of the graduation trip. Science: There wasn't enough time to start the next unit because of the graduation trip. Math: This week we did Ch. 3 Lesson 5 Mixed Operations. Novel: We couldn't complete the next chapters because of the graduation trip.
